CityTree Works to Curb Air Pollution  讓城市呼吸 ── 淨化空氣的苔蘚牆

One German company has a new weapon in the fight against air pollution.
一家德國公司擁有對抗空氣汙染的新武器。

  

  In almost every major city in the world, air pollution is threatening the health and lives of residents. According to the World Health Organization, seven million people a year __1__ breathing unhealthy air, which makes it the biggest environmental health risk out there. Cutting down on energy usage and driving less are two ways to improve air quality, but growing trees and other plants is one option that is often __2__.
  The German startup company Green City Solutions is making room for more plants in crowded urban landscapes. They claim that their product, a mobile installation called CityTree, has the __3__ to filter as much carbon dioxide out of the air as 275 trees. So far, it has __4__ in cities across the globe, such as Paris, Hong Kong, Oslo, and Brussels. There are two versions, one with a bench and one without. Both have space for advertising or information about the CityTree itself.
  Although the name is __5__, the installation is actually a moss culture, rather than a tree. "Moss cultures have a __6__ larger leaf surface area than any other plant. That means we can capture more pollutants," said Zhengliang Wu, cofounder of Green City Solutions. Solar power and a built-in rain irrigation system keep the plants alive while they clean the air in a 50-meter radius.
