There are many kinds of natural resources on the earth. We use natural resources every day. Air, water, soil, plants, and animals are some important resources we use. Without them, we would not be able to survive. People have changed the earth in many ways. We cut down trees to build homes and buildings. We make dams to hold water. We pave roads and construct bridges. We dig in the ground to find fuels such as coal, oil, and gas. However, we need to be careful about the changes we make. Some changes could cause problems to the earth. If we cut down too many trees, animals must find new homes and food. If they cannot do these things, they will die. When we make pollution, we harm natural resources. If the water and air are not clean, we cannot use them. Plants and animals could also die. We need to use fewer resources and protect more plants and animals.
